Arm Lift
An arm lift — also known as brachioplasty — is a cosmetic surgical procedure that is done to improve the appearance of the under portion of your upper arms.
As you grow older, the skin on your upper arms tends to change — they start sagging and become loose. Significant weight loss canaslo cause the undersides of your upper arms to droop.
Although exercise can help strengthen and improve muscle tone in the upper arm, it can't address excess skin that has lost elasticity.
The procedure is performed by plastic surgeons with general anesthesia under operating room conditions.
The amount of the fatty tissue accumulated differs from person to person. Thus, each patient should be evaluated separately. Arm lift surgery (Brachioplasty) can be performed on its own, or with other lifting surgeries such as abdominoplasty, breast reduction or breast lifting, thigh lift and liposuction. When the arm lift surgery is combined especially with liposuction, much better results can be achieved.
As soon the surgery is over, the patient’s arm is covered with a compression garment. Bruising and swelling after the procedure is normal and should not worry you.
